When creating a new booking in the admin panel, the system will yield guests automatically based their group size and session type.
Each time you change the date, guest size, or booking slot then the system will attempt to find the best suitable table.
Public Booking Rules
To limit the chances of the system automatically incorrectly placing a guest somewhere that would not be suitable, it has been designed to only place guests on tables that they would otherwise be able to book using your public booking form.

Locking Yield
The auto yield system by default will always look for a better / more suitable table for the guest every time you edit that guest. This ensures your venue is at maximum capacity but may not be always desirable.
You can lock any booking by toggling the "Locked" / "Unlocked" button in the yield area of the new booking wizard. When a booking is locked it will no longer auto-yield on changes, and the tables it currently has will remain assigned to it until you either manually amend the tables or turn off auto yield.
Force Yield
In the tables section you have two buttons, Auto Yield, which will run the yield system (regardless of if the booking is locked) and force yield. Force yield will run the yield system and ignore any booking rules, such as maximum bookings per slot. Force yield allows you to quickly yield guests that would otherwise not be accepted on your public booking form. It will not yield onto tables with current bookings.
Manually Adding Tables
Alongside using the auto yield system you can also manually add tables to a booking. To do so simply click the table in the table list (or search for it using the search box). Your tables will have one of three statuses:
You are never blocked from making a booking
Although you are warned about table issues such as overlaps or table size, you can always decide to ignore the system.
The table suitability warning shows when the table has a warning for cover size. This means the guests are greater or less than the defined limits for this table.
Table is booked means that there is an active booking blocking this table. Please be aware that active bookings include bookings in process. When guests or admins create bookings they have 15 minutes to complete the process, during which time the table is blocked out to ensure that there are no overlaps. If you want to see what booking is blocking a table simply hit the red ! triangle and it will show you all bookings that overlapping.
