BookingNinja has three types of session to pick from. Each one operates differently, and it isn’t possible to swap the type once the session has been created, so make sure to pick the right session for the job.

Repeated
This is the default session for anything that’s going to happen as part of your regular business operations. Usually these means your regular dining or your main bookable event that happens every day. This should also be used for any event that happens at the same time, on the same day every week, for example “Steak Night” or “Friday SEN”.
Event
Regular capacity events allow you to book one off events using the same yield, capacity and guest rules as your normal session. You must use this if you want to book customers to tables directly when they make the booking.
This is best used for things that follow your normal rules, but don't happen often, for example, “Valentine's Day” or “Mother's Day” bookings that don't have special tickets.
Ticketed Event
A ticketed event will sell tickets up to a total amount, ignoring your regular capacity rules. These are best for one off or semi regular events where you want to sell a ticket different from your normal operation.
You can reserve tables using a ticketed event so they aren't booked out by the normal system, but a ticket event does NOT assign bookings onto a table, it only sells tickets up to total - you will need to manually assign tables.
Other Information About Session Types
Events and Ticketed Events have to have their date and times picked MANUALLY by you, while repeating sessions are set in your opening hours.
Events and Ticket Events have the option to fully close your venue when they are running. Repeated sessions will only close other sessions if they are set to be exclusive.
